My Favorite Knitting Needles

When it comes to knitting needles, I’m pretty loyal—I only use ONE brand, and it’s hands down my favorite. It’s the brand I always reach for, no matter the project, because I know I can rely on them for both comfort and precision. In this section, I’m excited to share all the reasons why these knitting needles have earned a permanent spot in my collection and why I think they’re the best choice for any knitter!

ChiaoGoo Twist Red Lace Knitting Needles

Like I said, I’m no photographer, but let me just say – these needles are absolutely my favorite! If you’ve watched any of my knitting videos, just know I’m always using ChiaoGoo needles. They’re the only needles I use. I not only have the interchangeable set (shown here), but I also own several single needles in my favorite sizes – because you can never have enough! My Favorite Crochet Hooks

I recently made a discovery that I am allergic to the rubber handles on all my crochet hooks! This meant I had to do a complete restock of my entire crochet hook collection. After searching around for alternatives, I ended up falling in love with two different hook brands that I now swear by.

Ommi Resin Crochet Hook (Pictured Above)

Oh my goodness, just take a look at these absolutely GORGEOUS crochet hooks! I’m completely in love with them—they’re not just tools, they’re little works of art. The craftsmanship and beauty of these Ommi Crochet Hooks have totally captivated me. There’s something so special about holding a hook that’s as visually stunning as it is functional.

Whenever I’m reaching for a hook larger than 4mm, these are the first ones I grab. The smooth feel, the vibrant colors, and the elegant design make every stitch feel like a luxurious experience. I’m currently in the process of rebuilding my crochet hook collection, and every time I need a new size, I’m on the hunt for the perfect new Ommi Hook to add to my collection.

Right now, I’m the proud owner of a 4mm, 5mm, and 7mm, but I have my eye on a few more sizes to complete the set. Each new hook I add feels like a little treasure, and I can’t wait to see what others I’ll be able to collect next! If you’re looking for crochet hooks that are as much a joy to look at as they are to use, these Ommi Hooks are the way to go. Trust me, once you try them, you’ll be just as hooked (pun intended) as I am!

Yarniss Beech Wooden Crochet Hooks

Another brand that completely won me over is Yarniss Beech Wooden Crochet Hooks. I love the combination of smooth, comfortable wooden handles with strong steel hooks. This design is absolutely perfect for smaller hook sizes, which tend to snap more easily with other materials. I find the wooden handles incredibly comfortable to grip, and the steel hooks give me that extra durability I need. I reach for these Yarniss Beech Wood hooks whenever I’m crocheting with a hook size smaller than 4.00mm, and they’ve quickly become an essential part of my toolkit. Whether I’m working on delicate lace or intricate details, these hooks make the process feel so much more enjoyable!

My Favorite Yarn

Alright, here we go—this part is going to be a bit tricky for me because I absolutely adore so many different types of yarn. It’s honestly hard to choose just a few, and if I’m being completely honest, I could probably write an entire post dedicated solely to my favorite yarns and the reasons I love them all. There’s just something about the textures, colors, and fibers that make each one unique. But for now, I’ll keep it simple and share with you a handful of yarn that I find myself reaching for most often. These are the ones I consistently come back to time and time again for my projects, and I think you’ll see why!

Caron Simply Soft

Caron Simply Soft is, without a doubt, my go-to yarn. It’s incredibly soft, beautiful, and comes in a wide variety of colors. I use it for everything—blankets, beanies, headbands, and pillow covers—and it’s so easy to care for. As a busy mom, I love that it’s machine washable, and after countless washes, my creations are still softer and cuddlier than ever.

What’s even better is that it’s affordable and easy to find, whether in stores or online. It’s the perfect yarn for creating lasting, beautiful pieces without breaking the bank!

Red Heart Super Saver

Red Heart Super Saver is a yarn I reach for often, but for different reasons than Caron Simply Soft. While Caron is soft and silky, Red Heart is thicker and rougher, making it perfect for bulkier projects like my project totes. Doubling up the strands gives them the durability I need for sturdy, long-lasting bags.

It’s also incredibly affordable and easy to find, whether in stores or online. With a wide variety of beautiful colors to choose from, I can always find the perfect shade for any project. Red Heart Super Saver is my go-to for durable, budget-friendly creations with vibrant color!

Premier Parfait Chunky

Who else is a fan of chenille yarn? If you love it but haven’t tried Premier Parfait Chunky yet, prepare to have your mind blown. This yarn has quickly become one of my all-time favorites—and it’s not just me! Many other crocheters swear by it, too. The softness is incredibly luxurious, and the fluffy texture is perfect for creating that plush, cozy feel we all crave. It’s absolutely ideal for making snuggly blankets and pillow covers, and it’s a top choice for amigurumi and stuffed toy makers as well. Once you give it a try, you’ll understand why it’s such a beloved staple in so many yarn stashes!

Honorable Mention: Bernat Baby Velvet

I absolutely had to include this in my favorite yarn list! I just finished knitting a twin-size blanket for my daughter using Bernat Baby Velvet, and let me tell you—I’m completely in love. This yarn is so incredibly soft, it’s heavy in the best way, and it’s without a doubt the cuddliest thing I’ve ever made. If it didn’t take me a year to knit, I’d probably have dozens of these cozy, plush blankets all over the house. My daughter got to pick out the yarn she wanted for her blanket, and let me tell you, she picked an absolute winner! (Psst…check out my Chiagoo cable needle in the mix too!)

My Favorite Knitting & Crocheting Tools and Accessories

If you’re anything like me, the right tools and accessories can make all the difference when it comes to knitting and crocheting. Over the years, I’ve tried out countless gadgets, but there are a few key items that have truly become essential in my crafting routine. From trusty row counters that keep me on track, to my go-to blocking boards that help my projects come to life, and even a perfect little box that helps me organize all those tiny odds and ends—these are the tools I can’t live without. Keep reading to discover the must-haves that keep my knitting and crocheting smooth and stress-free!

Yrangee Blocking Mats

In both knitting and crocheting, blocking mats are an absolute must-have. Whether you want to admit it or not, some projects truly come to life only after they’ve been blocked. It can completely transform the look and feel of your work, giving it that polished, professional finish. Having the right set of blocking mats can make all the difference—and trust me, you’ll thank me for this recommendation! This Yrangee Blocking Mats set is fantastic. It comes with a convenient case for easy storage and even has a side pocket that’s perfect for keeping all your pins (which, by the way, it includes!). I’ve been using these mats for years, and they’re still in great shape and working wonderfully! Definitely a tool worth having in your crafting arsenal!

Good ‘ol Fashion Row Counters

There’s something truly special about sticking with the classics! Over the years, I’ve experimented with all sorts of modern tools—row counting apps, notebooks, and even automatic counters—hoping to find a more efficient way to keep track of my rows. But no matter what I try, I always end up coming back to the good old-fashioned row counters. There’s just something reliable about them that I can’t quite replicate with technology. And I hate to admit it, but it actually took me more than 12 years of knitting to finally realize that I could simply keep my row counter on my cable needle. It seems so obvious now, but at the time, it was a total game-changer!

Mathtoxyz Small Bead Organizers

This is a box full of little boxes, and if you’re as obsessed with organization as I am, you’ll absolutely fall in love with these Mathtoxyz Small Bead Boxes! They’re perfect for keeping track of all those tiny items that tend to get lost in the shuffle. I personally use mine to store my stitch markers, little clips, measuring tape, and even a bunch of hair ties for making scrunchies. Each little compartment is perfect for organizing everything, so nothing ever gets misplaced. It’s such a simple yet brilliant way to keep all your supplies neat and accessible. So, what will you store in your little boxes? The possibilities are endless, and I’m sure you’ll find so many creative ways to use them!

Honorable Mention: Yarn Winder (not pictured)

Okay, so I am obsessed with a good yarn cake! I had the most AMAZING yarn winder that I absolutely adored. I used it heavily for about two years—until one fateful day, it broke! It was so upsetting! To make matters worse, I couldn’t find the exact same model anywhere, and I didn’t even get a picture of it to show you. So, I turned to Amazon and picked up the most popular yarn winder I could find—the Knit Picks Yarn Ball Winder. I still have it and use it occasionally, but, if I’m being honest…I don’t love it as much as my old one. I don’t want to say I hate it, but let’s just say it’s not my favorite. That being said, I know a lot of people use and love it, so I’ll leave this one up to you. Maybe it’ll work better for you than it does for me!

Personal Favorites!

Knitting and crocheting weren’t the only things I was loving in 2024! Along with my creative projects, I discovered and enjoyed so many other things that brought joy to my personal life—whether it was something for me, my home, or my family. Below, I’ve rounded up some of the highlights from last year that made my life a little brighter and more fulfilling.

My Favorite Fake Nails

If you follow me on social media, you KNOW how much I love having my nails done! I just can’t go more than a few days with short nail nubs before I’m reaching for a fresh set. When I was younger and didn’t have kids, I’d treat myself to a salon visit every few weeks. But since becoming a mom, I just don’t have the time—or the patience to sit in a salon for an hour to get them done. So, I’ve started doing them at home! Below, I’m sharing some of my all-time FAVORITE nail sets that make it super easy to keep my nails looking fabulous without the salon visit.

KISS Bare But Better TruNude Fake Nails

These KISS Bare But Better TruNude Fake Nails are literally the nails I’m typing with right now! I did trim mine down a bit, so the ones in the picture are shorter than they come right out of the box. But that’s one of the best things about these nails—they’re super customizable! You can easily glue them on, trim them to your perfect length, and you’re all set. I love how quick and easy it is to get a salon-quality look at home. I can get two sets out of one box. When applied properly, these nails last me a solid two weeks, which is amazing for the price and convenience!

KISS Gel Fantasy – Jelly Crushin’ in Light Blue

Looking to add a fun pop of color to your style just in time for spring and summer? Well, look no further—these KISS Gel Fantasy – Jelly Crushin’ Nails in Light Blue are absolutely adorable and perfect for the season! They have that trendy jelly look, which gives them a modern, chic vibe that’s super stylish and right on point with current trends. What I love most is that they come long right out of the box, so you can easily trim them down to whatever length you prefer. Whether you like them bold and long or a little more subtle, you can customize them to perfectly fit your style.

KISS Salon Acrylic French Nails

Okay, I know my millennial side is showing with this one, but who doesn’t love a classic? There’s something about a French manicure that just never goes out of style. I always keep a few of these on hand for those moments when I want a simple, effortless look that still feels polished and chic. These KISS Salon Acrylic French Nails sets are my go-to fallback when all my other nails are used up or I’m just in the mood for something timeless. No matter how many new trends come and go, I’ll always have a soft spot for a good French set—they’re just a classic that works every time!

Honorable Mention: Mathtoxyz Small Bead Organizers (AGAIN!)

I actually have one of these Mathtoxyz Small Bead Organizers for my nails as well! It’s perfect for keeping each set of nails separate and organized, along with all the little extras like nail files, cuticle sticks, and the tubes of glue that come with them. I even cut up and store my gel nail polish strips in there too! It’s honestly such a versatile little box of boxes—it keeps everything neat and easy to find, making my nail care routine so much smoother. A Few More of My Favorites

As we wrap up this list, I wanted to share a few more of my absolute favorites—things I truly can’t live without! From the perfect pair of sunglasses that always complete my look, to a candle warmer that sets the mood and fills my space with cozy scents, to my iPad setup that keeps me organized and ready to take on the day, these are the little essentials that make a big difference in my daily life. Check out the links below to see why these are must-haves in my world!

My Favorite Sunglasses

If you follow me on social media, you’ve definitely seen these sunglasses—I even wear them in my profile pictures! They’re, without a doubt, my FAVORITE pair I’ve ever had. I love the retro cat-eye shape, but with a modern twist that gives them the perfect balance of vintage and contemporary style. They’ve been my go-to for a while now, and I get so many compliments on them! The bad news? They’re currently out of stock, and I’m pretty bummed about it. If I can’t find them again, these similar ones will be my next pick. While I can’t fully recommend them just yet since I haven’t tried them personally, they look like a great alternative that might just live up to my beloved pair!

Tulip Candle Warming Lamp

Do you love candles but hate the idea of burning them? Same here! There’s something about a lit candle that always slips my mind unless it’s right in front of me. Plus, with two young kids running around, I can’t have a flame burning in the common areas of my home. That’s where this candle warmer comes in—it’s the perfect solution. Not only is it gorgeous, but it also fills my space with a lovely scent without the worry of an open flame. It has three different levels of light and heat, so you can customize it to your preference. The soft light it gives off also adds a beautiful accent lighting to any room. I have mine in the kitchen! Bonus: I sometimes use mine as a food warmer! It’s great for warming up a cookie like they just came out of the oven, keeping a little toddler’s plate of food warm, or even softening butter!

My iPad Setup

This might seem a little silly, but my iPad Air is honestly one of my most beloved tools. I use it for so many things I’d normally do on my phone or laptop. Whether I’m running my small business, working my day job, or just relaxing and having fun, my iPad is always in hand. It’s my go-to device when I’m creating patterns, writing out my steps and drawing my designs with my Apple Pencil (using my favorite tips!), and it even has a matte paper screen cover that makes writing and drawing feel just like the real paper! I also use it to create all my marketing materials and brand graphics, check emails, post on social media, keep up with my YouTube channel, and manage my website. Seriously, the list goes on and on! And yes, I play games on it too! Plus, it’s so customizable. I love swapping out the pictures under my clear silicone cover, changing up the icons with the Shortcuts app, and updating my background based on the season. It’s the ultimate all-in-one device that I can’t imagine living without.
